We are deeply saddened by the recent events in and continue to work closely with our office, partners and friends in Israel. Israel is a resilient and strong nation, and we know that this will pass and travelers will once again fill the country. Right now, it is more important than ever to be a voice in the darkness and stand in solidarity. The best way we can support Israel and her people is to postpone and not cancel travel, and to make plans to go as soon as travel resumes. Together we can make a difference!
Summertime in Israel!
We’re halfway through the summer and our passengers have been having a wonderful time on our Family-Bar/Bat Mitzvah Tours. They’re visiting all the most important religious and historical sites and were presented with their Bar/Bat Mitzvah Certificates at the Great Menorah in Jerusalem near the Knesset.
In the North of Israel, the groups experienced the Golan Heights on a jeep tour, rafted on the Jordan River, explored, and shopped in the mystical city of Safed, and even paid a visit to the kangaroos at the Gan Garoo Australian Park!
Next it was on to the Dead Sea and Masada for the morning Bar/Bat Mitzvah service. Our families ascended to the top of Masada: a place that represents the determination, bravery, spirit, and unity of the Jewish people. Celebrating the Bar/Bat Mitzvah in this significant location will strengthen your child’s sense of Jewish identity and create a strong connection to their Jewish heritage. It is an unforgettable experience that will leave a lasting impact on your whole family.
After the Dead Sea, our families were off to the beautiful Red Sea resort city of Eilat for some fun and relaxation. A fabulous yacht cruise with lunch and swimming and some down time to just enjoy the beautiful beaches was enjoyed by all.
Our Summer groups ended their tour in the bustling city of Tel Aviv. Highlights included a visit to the famous Ayalon Institute and the Beit Guvrin Archeological dig. Of course, the festive Bar/Bat Mitzvah party was a fun filled evening complete with music, dancing, cake cutting and a candle lighting ceremony.

May 8, 2023 Tour visiting Northern Israel
Our May 8th Adults Only group is now touring all of Northern Israel including Tiberias, the Golan Heights, Safed, a Golan Heights Winery, a boat ride on Sea of Galilee, visiting Kibbutz Ein Gev, taking a cable car to the grottoes at Rosh Hanikra, Akko, Haifa and Caesaria. With Israel Discovery Tours, you see all of Israel. They sent back some pictures and even a little video to let us know their having an amazing experience!

Welcome Home!
We’re thrilled to announce that as of Nov. 1, 2021, Israel is open for individual and group tourism.
Under the previous “permitted group” program we were able to send our Oct 25, 2021 Adults Only tour.
The group has been touring the whole country and as you can see from the pictures – having a fantastic time. They’ve been able to see and do everything on our comprehensive itinerary including Jerusalem, the Dead Sea/Masada, Eilat, The North and Tel Aviv.

It’s hard to believe it’s already Pesach and over a year into the pandemic – but we do have an important update from the Israel Ministry of Tourism:
“Not surprising, Israel is emerging as a leader in the efforts to vaccinate. As of today, 60% of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine and 50% of the population is fully vaccinated. This is very encouraging and great news as we look to travel to resume. While we do not currently have a definitive date or guidelines for opening, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Tourism are working hard on the next steps of travel. We are hopeful that sometime in June the first tourists will be back in Israel. Regarding the guidelines of opening, we expect further information after Passover. Currently the Ministries of Health and Tourism are gathering information to make decisions on the safest way to open.”
Israel Discovery Tours is looking forward to start sending passengers as soon as Israel is open. We have many reservations for our Fall Adult tours and our Family Bar-Bat Mitzvah December tours are very heavily booked already. We think it’s going to be an extremely busy end of the year!!
